Good Bye Shield – HIT: The WWE had the choice to let people know that Dean Ambrose was leaving after his contract expired in April. They decided to play one more game with The Shield to have a good time as a team at Fastlane, then move on to all three. We already knew that Seth Rollins would join Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. After the opening segment, we did not know what they were going to do with Roman Reigns or Ambrose, but at the end of the series, we knew that they were going to play with Reigns against Drew McIntyre, which is a great option. This was set up here in the opening segment when The Shield basically said goodbye to the fans as a trio. It was short and precise, without slipping or adding a curved ball that was not necessary. I also appreciated the fact that they were still friends throughout the show, even though we would not see them as a trio on the ring. The rest of the opening segment with Rollins talking to Paul Heyman was solid, but not good enough to win a shot.
Rollins vs. Benjamin – HIT: It would have been much better if Shelton Benjamin had had a series of wins on Smackdown in the last few months. It would have seemed more of a threat to Rollins. The story made sense and Heyman explained the comments of the guests during the match. It was a good match between two talented workers. But Benjamin has not spent so much time on television and is a serious threat to anyone. So I will call it a marginal move.
Balor vs. Lashley – MISS: The reign of Finn Balor at the full intercontinental championship was disappointing. I liked putting the title on Bobby Lashley when they did it. I did not like taking it off when they did it, nor the way they did it when Balor won the Lio Rush victory over Lashley himself. This undermines his title from the beginning. It turns out that the reign proved very short and ended flat when Balor was distracted by Rush, which allowed Lashley to take the upper hand over him for the victory. The match itself was ok, but not particularly good until the end of the apartment.
Rousey – HIT: Ronda Rousey appeared as a person trying to find herself. like a heel. She did a lot of good work. She explained why she intervened to make sure Becky Lynch was added to her WM match against Charlotte Flair. She spoke to the fans and told them I did not like the fact that WWE is a con artist. This thing is not necessary. The interruption of Dana Brooke was strange. Like Benjamin, that would have meant more if we had seen more of her (not winning matches like Benjamin should have been as it would have been contrary to the story that she told, but maybe to even see her trying to seize opportunities). She did a good job defending the WWE and saying that she was going to create her own opportunity. However, these two things contradicted each other. Why is she so determined to defend the company that does not give her the opportunities she deems worthy? Physics in the end with Rousey hitting her and hitting an umpire put the segment back on track in the end.
Strowman – MISS: Braun Strowman faced Brock Lesnar for the universal title about four months ago. . He was one of the two best baby-faces in Raw in the absence of Reigns. Now he's just back to where he was some time ago doing these big stunts showing his inhuman strength. He is now on the way to attending two celebrities from Saturday Night Live at WM, with no apparent match. He may end up in Andre the Giant Royal Battle, which is normal. But he does not feel big enough for him at this point. And the comedy is disappointing.
Elias – MISS: Elias turns his wheels around. And he was demoted to Raw from the PPV the night before. After being interrupted by Randy Orton, he was interrupted by No Way Jose and his conga line. I swear we've seen this before. I do not understand why Renee Young wants to hear her sing. The heat of the cheap heel is old. His ill-conceived foosball last year continues to sound like a mistake because he has calmed down.
Jax vs Natalya – MISS: The problem is the reservation. This quarrel started well at the PPV with Beth Phoenix's commitment, but it was not a good way to follow her. First of all, I did not like the way Nia Jax and Tamina came into the ring looking at Lacey Evans as if she were nobody. How is it good for a new act that has not yet been established? WWE should not have had this match on this show. It was the moment to talk more, less action. WWE had to do a better job of reintroducing Phoenix to the public. They needed to spend a segment with her and Natalya to talk about their friendship and Phoenix's victory with the fans before moving on to a game next week. Phoenix did not get a good answer from the crowd. Phoenix looked bad for being involved in the match so early. It was as if she had no confidence in Natalya's ability to beat Jax. I like the idea of this match tag at WM, but it was a bad step. And then, I did not like Jax and Tamina fighting Sasha Banks and Bayley in the back. That worries me for a triple threat match at WM. After the PPV, they should have had a clearer break between the two teams to allow them to move on to something new at WM
Triple H – Batista – MISS: "Give me what I want! No! "Give me what I want! "" No! "Give me what I want! "" Agreement. "It sums up this bad back and forth between Triple H and Batista. They both met as petulant children. It started well when Batista defeated Ric Flair two weeks ago. Since then, Triple H promotions have been excessively lenient last week, and all that. The story seemed to be one where Batista was going to have enough trouble to make Triple H get angry enough to accept his challenge for a match at WM. But after only one thing, Triple H accepted (after those silly howls). It was anti-climactic. Neither looked good. I did not want to see the game, but at least I enjoyed the fact that the WWE positioned Triple H in babyface and Batista in heel. That made me more interested, but it did the opposite. And who did not see that it was forbidden? They can not do a good fight game, so it must have turned into a walk and a fight.
Announcement of Angle's Retreat – HIT: WWE is not embarking on a scenario to force Kurt Angle to retire as I thought. Instead, he has just announced that he will retire at WM. It's good. You can sell WM in part as an Angle Retirement Partner. His announcement was well done. The idea that he would have one last game in his hometown, Pittsburg, made sense and that it was against a friend like Apollo Crews where he could win a victory without hurting anyone. , it was good. I'm curious to see who wins this last game against Angle. Nothing has been set up here. I think of Baron Corbin.
McIntyre's attacks reign – HIT: I did not need to see Reigns against Corbin in this episode of Raw. So, the bait and the switch were fine with me. The McIntyre attack was very well done and was better than the match. McIntyre went through like a killer heel. Reigns did a good job selling concussion symptoms. Rollins who was watching him worked well. The scene after the commercial where he and Ambrose helped him to get to the training room to be controlled also worked and matched what we saw at the beginning of the show. Ambrose did a good job in demanding a fall count match anywhere against McIntyre. This places Reigns against McIntyre at WM in what should be a very good match, which is really worthy of the WM and what is good for both wrestlers.
Ambrose vs McIntyre – HIT: The match was a very good match. main fight. McIntyre and Ambrose were physical and intense in their fight all over the arena. McIntyre became more and more sadistic as the match unfolded until the end, while they were fighting at the announcements table. Ambrose had a lot of attack early in the day and looked fit for most of the match, but it was McIntyre who eventually dominated. He looked like the most mean man in society in his victory. This should make the audience want to see Reigns take revenge on this Shield brother at WM. It was very well done. I'm just curious about Ambrose's future. This could have been a way to spread it. There is no guarantee that he will get a WM match.
