Salman Khan is reported to have re-recorded the same song sung by Atif Aslam for Notebook after the All India Cine Workers Association announced the general ban on Pakistani artists.

Four years ago, when Athiya Shetty Sooraj Pancholi was doing his Hero debut at the movies, Salman Khan had entered the recording studio to sing the soulful title song. In 2019, he launched a new pair, Pranutan Bahel and Zaheer Iqbal, and again lent his voice to a film.

Apparently, Pakistani singer Atif Aslam was supposed to sing the song, but Salman had to replace him after the All India Cine Workers Association announced a general ban on Pakistani artists after the Pulwama terrorist attack.

According to a mid-day report, Salman's name as singer of this sweet and romantic song was evoked during a brainstorming session. "Many singers were taken into account, but the authors were not totally convinced that they could do justice to their cause," the source told Mid-Day.

Notebook an unusual love story taking place in picturesque Jammu and Kashmir Pranutan is the daughter of the actor Mohnish Bahl and the granddaughter of Nutan, and Zaheer is the son from a childhood friend of Salman.
