The LEGO Marvel Games were designed for us nearly six years, starting with in 2013. The LEGO Marvel Superheroes in 2013. They did a great job of Stay in tune with the Marvel film universe and extend the Marvel tradition with other stories and characters from the vast library of characters. .
But with Avengers: Endgame in theaters, next month, to close phase 3 of the Marvel Film Universe and the LEGO Marvel Collection which apparently closes the own phase of TT Games Marvel, what is the next step for the franchise and the studio?
We recently had the opportunity to ask these specific questions to TT Games' lead producer, Matt Ellison, and here's what he was able to tell us.
GameFragger (GF): First and foremost, congratulations on the LEAN Marvel collection. Just like the release of Avengers: Endgame, this seems like a record time for TT Games. How would you describe in recent years within the Marvel franchise?
Matt Ellison (ME): Thank you! It's amazing to work with Marvel on these games. It's a privilege to work in such a fantastic universe, with so many characters being loved around the world and it's great that more people can now play these 3 games.
GF: What was your favorite thing about working with the Marvel franchise?
ME: For me it's that we've been able to incorporate as many different characters into this series of games. Each character revealing what we were doing, there were always people excited to see who joined the list and anticipate the next. I've learned a lot about some of the darkest characters in the Marvel Universe since I started working on games. I've always found it very cool to know that other people, and especially our young audience, could learn more about the characters through our games.
GF: Does Marvel's vast library of characters contain heroes? that you really want to get into the game but that you could not for one reason or another?
ME: In the three games, I think we've had enough of the people we wanted to have in the games. I remember that making Howard the Duck in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes was a big problem for the team and we were delighted that it could happen. For me personally, I really enjoyed having different versions of the characters in LEGO Marvel 2 that people might not know … A cowboy version of Captain America being my favorite example!
GF: In the future, Marvel moves In phase 4 of his MCU, what kind of plans does TT Games have in terms of Marvel-related content?
ME: In terms of Marvel, this LEGO Marvel collection has been very enriched our goal. We're very happy to see what's happening with Phase 4 as well, and if people ask for more LEGO Marvel games, then we'll listen!
GF: With LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, you released Infinity. DLC war pack. Are you planning to do the same with Avengers: Endgame?
ME: We really liked being able to do the DLC Infinity War and see how to give Thanos as many abilities as possible. we had fun! We do not expect any content for Avengers: Endgame at this time.
GF: What's next for the LEGO Marvel franchise? Did Marvel give you any clues as to where they plan to take the MCU as a preparation for possible links with the game?
ME: I'd like to know more but I'm
GF: Finally, TT Games has a long history of working with big franchises, from Marvel to Star Wars via DC and more. But what is the franchise for which you would like to create a LEGO game?
ME: We were fortunate to have generally achieved many large franchises that I would have liked. have already seen! I appreciated the content of Mission Impossible in LEGO Dimensions and I would like to see its content expanded!
