The film also marks the first collaboration of Alia Bhatt with Salman Khan and Bhansali. She said that working with the actors-directors duo was a dream come true for her. The development was almost a month after. Prerna Singh, CEO of Bhansali Productions, revealed that Salman Khan would play in the next Bhansali adventure.
The filmmaker made his debut as a director with the 1996 film Khamoshi – The Musical starring Salman Khan. The actor was then featured in the director's clbadic film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999 with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.
Salman Khan also made an incursion into Bhansali Saawariya . who launched Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.
