Srivastava announced the same thing on Twitter and wrote that it was better to lose a prize rather than share it with someone who did not write the story.
YOU contacted the film crew and here is what she had to say.
Shantanu Srivastava said: "In the protest (regarding Jyoti Kapoor's claims), we decided to withdraw our names from the nominations, because we do not wish to share them, congratulate the one who did not work at It's as simple as that and if you have any doubt, do not hesitate to compare our story and our script, which is already in the public domain, to Jyoti Kapoor's story and screenplay. "
Amit Ravindernath Sharma, the director of the film, said that Jyoti had nothing to do with "Badhaai Ho" and that she had not written it. Here is the detailed statement from Amit:
My intention behind the film was to spread happiness and not make it complacent with controversy. Nowadays, the media are strong and coming and I appreciate it, but it's amazing how easy it is to manipulate and confuse people via social platforms. What I am going to say is in black and white, there is no gray.
Badhaai Ho!, The movie released in October 2018 was written by Akshat and Shantanu. Ms. Jyoti Kapor had nothing to do with the story or script that transcribed the movie loved by the audience.
What is appalling is that no one has contacted me to ask for clarification about this. A director would know who wrote the film that he directed. I have not met Ms. Jyoti so far nor read the script of Hum do Humare Char which, according to her, looks like Badhaai Ho. Jyoti had the same idea of line that I did not know until ### I know her from Junglee Pictures.
The film industry is brutal and ruthless and, unlike the corporate sector, the hard work we have accomplished is considerable. I have known Akshat and Shantanu since their formation, they have remained faithful to the art and diligent in their work, but they have never been cheaters. Filmfare is one of the largest recognition platforms for artists in the Indian film industry and makes it a brand name. If Ms. Jyoti really contributed to Badhaai ho's script, I beg her to publicly express herself with her storyline and put an end to this confusion, once and for all.
Akshat, one of the authors of Badhaai Ho !, had this idea in 2012, as part of an advertising campaign. He told me the idea and we started working in the same way. It was in 2015. Shortly after, when Priti (Shahani) learned that I was working on a similar idea, we met and she heard our story. She loved it so much that she said we should continue to develop it. Akshat and Shantanu began to develop the story that became Badhaai Ho !. I do not insinuate anything here and leave nothing to gray or strange badumptions. The story was developed by Akshat and Shantanu only who kept Junglee informed. Ms. Jyoti and her version of the story were never responsible for what would become Badhaai Ho !.
Priti spoke with Akshat and Shantanu and, in good faith, they agreed to give Ms. Jyoti Kapoor the credit that was due to her, "Story for Junglee pictures," As you can see, n & rsquo; Not appear with the main authors, but towards the end of the credits table.
I am saddened to learn that two hardworking people will miss something for which they have really worked hard.
I wish Ms. Jyoti Kapoor much success and success in her future projects.
Akshat Ghildial also confirmed what Shantanu said, "I do not have to say anything other than what Shantanu and Amit said." I do not even know if we are going to get the prize or not, but the fight makes no sense. So it's best to silence our name and remove it from the nomination list, because if we ever get this award, we do not want to be with someone who has not worked at all on the project. "
Speaking of the matter in detail, he adds: "We were actually developing the idea of Badhaai Ho with Amit while she was working on a similar concept with Junglee. However, when she did heard about our concept, Jyoti has what I'm working on and we continued with our story, not his, so how is Badhaai Ho his story? "
Priti Shahani, producer of "Badhaai Ho", also submitted a detailed statement. Here's what she had to say:
It is discouraging to see that our writers Shantanu and Akshat have been put in a position where they think the right thing to do is to remove their name from the filming nomination for Best Story.
Jyoti Kapoor was commissioned writer to develop a story based on an internal concept that was tentatively titled "Hum Do Hamaare Chaar". During the development phase, we learned that director Amit Sharma was also working on the same idea. As prudent producers, we met Amit Sharma to understand and discuss the direction of each person's work. It was then Junglee Pictures who made the creative decision to reduce our internal development and support the story created by Shantanu and Akshat. We had this discussion with Jyoti Kapoor, paid her for her time and efforts in accordance with the agreement and terminated our contract with her.
Junglee Pictures agreed to give him credit only if his work was used. However, we gave it in good faith because we thank our member of the internal team for the idea of history. The story of his "Hum do Hamaare Chaar" has no resemblance to "Badhaai Ho". She does not share the highest credit with screenwriters for the same reason.
Filmfare was mistakenly named in the script credit for the prize nomination and provided the necessary clarifications. It is our duty to support our writers and their work and we will support it in every way possible. Their work was loved and appreciated and they were rightly appointed for the same job.
