Game of Thrones has a loyal following for almost nine years now. With an incredible plot and an incredible storyline, the TV series has become a household name. But for Emilia Clarke, turning the series was no less a nightmare, at least during the early years. The actress, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, has faced death twice during the filming of the hugely successful series.
In an essay for The New Yorker, Emilia recounted the horrors she experienced when she suffered. life-threatening aneurysms (bulge in a blood vessel of the brain) twice. The British actress revealed that the first time she had been affected by a ruptured aneurysm, she was at the gym. It was in 2011 after shooting the first season of GoT . The publication quotes Emilia: "At one level, I knew what was happening: my brain was damaged. For a few moments, I tried to dispel pain and nausea. "
She also explained to the publication that, to keep her memory alive, she had attempted to recall certain lines of GoT among others. According to the report, the actress was only 24 years old during her first brain surgery and, during her convalescence, she could not even remember her name. The actress also said, "In my worst moments, I wanted to unplug the plug. I asked the medical staff to let me die. "
The actress continued to horrify when, during a systematic brain scan, doctors found that the growth of aneurysms in her brain had doubled. That's when she underwent another operation that resulted in another month in the hospital. But luckily, all of this belongs to the past for the actress who has now healed beyond "her unreasonable hopes". The report also mentions that Emilia has helped to create a kind of charity for people seeking treatment for stroke or brain injury.
