RAWALPINDI, PAKISTAN (AFP) – Pakistani server Rozi Khan had never heard of the Game Of Thrones – nor of his extremely popular character, Tyrion Lannister – until his striking resemblance to the Dwarf anti-hero has returned home.
The 25-year-old player looks so much like the actor Peter Dinklage – who has played the role of the witty and cunning noble since the first season of the hit series in 2010 – that he's regularly stopped by strangers looking desperately for a picture.
Many of my photos were taken, so I became very famous around the world, "he said.
Not only are the faces of Khan and Dinklage remarkably similar, but they also have the same height, about 135 cm.
Unsurprisingly, photos of the couple were found on social media, showing doppelgangers side by side.
"Wherever I am, somebody" one said to me, "Sir, who is this man with you on Facebook", I say that he is my friend. "He looks like you, I tell them he's my brother, it's not a bad thing," Khan said.
The television series won 47 Emmys – more than any other fiction show in history – as well as a Golden Globe for Dinklage, 49, for Best Supporting Actor in 2012. [19659002] A highly anticipated final series is expected to begin on April 15th.
Khan works in a small kashmiri restaurant on a narrow line in Rawalpindi, serving hearty dishes such as mutton and spinach curries.
Its owner, Malik Aslam Pervez, describes him as a hard worker – and also a drawing board for the restaurant.
"When he takes a day off or gets sick, people search him and ask where he's gone." They get angry. "They love him." There's always a crowd here but he has exploded because of him, "he said.
Born in Mansehra, in northern Pakistan, Khan stated that he would like to meet Dinklage, describing him as a friend and brother.
"I love him very much, he is my friend … he is at my height, so I like him a lot," Khan said.
For customers, seeing Tyrion Lannister in the flesh is also a thrill.
I saw him, I'm happy, I feel like I met Lannister in real life, "said Zain Hadri, 20.
Game Of Thrones tells the story of noble families fighting for control of the iron throne while keeping an eye on the White Walkers leading the hordes of the undead to an invasion of the North
