Of all the characters in Game of Thrones, it's the easiest to love Arya Stark. Played by Maisie Williams for nine years, Arya was the one everyone wanted to tie up, whether for her refusal to look like her sister and to respect the rules of the game, or for the unwavering courage that She showed every step of her way.
The first time we met Arya, she threw arrows better than her brothers and raised the stench when she made knit dresses. Her father, Ned Stark, took her to King's Landing, the only decision that marked the beginning of the family disaster. However, it was at King's Landing that she had her first lesson in saber combat (or dance in the water as her preceptor Syrio Forel said). If Arya could not be happier to learn what she still wanted, Ned knew that he was preparing her daughter for the unjust life she might soon be living. But surely he did not have to expect how bad things would turn out.
Fun lessons are useful soon enough. Arya's childhood is cut off the day she sees her father being executed. Fortunately for her, she was not held captive like Sansa and was free to make her own choices. She claimed to be a boy, walked among delinquents, served the wine of Tywin Lannister, learned the selfish behavior of men and also deserved Jaqen H'ghar's favor.

But with their strange relationship, Stockholm-ish syndrome, she learned Sandor's survival and brutality tips while learning to be more human. Although he could have become more kind to her, she had become cold. No surprise, she let him die in the end.
However, it was still possible to harden one's heart. She eventually went to Bravos where she honed her killer skills. H'ghar gave him blow after blow, until she came out like a rough diamond. She was unbeatable now, not only by her body but also by her spirit.
