Prince Charles and Camilla arrived in Cuba for a historic visit that will allow them to celebrate the cultural ties between the United Kingdom and the communist state.
The official trip of Charles and Camilla to Cuba will be a first for members of the monarchy and comes after the couple's visit to five Commonwealth Caribbean countries where the Queen is the head of state.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were greeted by officials after landing at Jose Marti International Airport in Havana on a RAF Barbados aircraft.
They attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the José Marti monument and were photographed in front of an image of Ernesto "Che" Guevara, a well-known figure of the Cuban Revolution.
The couple began their four-day visit by laying a wreath at the memorial of essayist and poet José Marti, Cuba's national hero.

Flags were also raised at the welcoming ceremony.
The couple will be joined in Cuba by the Commonwealth Minister. Lord Ahmad, showing the importance the Government attaches to the development of its relations with Cuba.
A spokesman for the royal couple said, "Their Royal Highnesses are eager to experience the culture and meet the people of Cuba."

In a recording studio in Havana, Charles and Camilla will meet members of the Buena Vista Social Club.
The band became famous around the world when their 1997 album was a hit and a Grammy Award winner.
