On the day of Pelli Choopulu, Abhi (Rahul Vijay) talks to the girl Pooja (Perlene) about a girl he loved. Except for the act of "Gone Girl" of Niharika, there is nothing new in this story of a boy caught between two girls.
From the opening sequence between Pantulu and Shivaji Raja, the so-called jokes are out of date. While Shivaji Raja reads a newspaper, the pantulu asks, "Do you read the newspaper?" And you answer: "No, I'm selling vegetables". Such are the clichéd jokes we see profusely in this so-called new-age rom-com.
Suryakantam has a phobia of commitment due to his broken family. Generally, we find this trait in the male protagonist, here the genre is reversed. But the director did not manage to say it in an engaging and amusing way. Although the second half is better than the first half boring, the film puts all the patience to the test.
Rahul Vijay as a guy with a confused mind is decent. His characterization is stupid though. Niharika as Suryakantam is hardly impressive, she barely pbades. Perlene Bhesania in the role of Pooja is another typical girl.
Technically, the movie is just ok. The music is nice anyway. The edition is pbadive.
In summary: 'Suryakantam', the rom-com, puts to the test the patience with which it is installed and a noncration without engagement.
There is a dialogue in the film that is "Ee idealu neeku tallo nunchi vastaya, nee talloni pellonunchi vastayi". Does it mean "Do these ideas come to you from your brain or lice from your head?" This sentence is also suitable for many scenes of the film. How boring!
