But 2012 ends on a bitter note when Ajay confronts Yash Raj Films, alleging that they used their influence to maintain his film Son Of Sardar in favor from their own film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan with Shah Rukh Khan. Ajay filed a complaint with the Competition Commission of India (ICC) who had refused to stay the release of Jab Tak Hai Jaan but had ordered the opening of 39, an investigation.
