A Mexican rock star commits suicide after a #MeToo accusation

The founder and bbadist of the Mexican rock band Botellita de Jerez, 64-year-old Armando Vega Gil, is killed. Monday after publishing a suicide letter on Twitter stating that he was falsely and anonymously accused of badually abusing a minor.

Vega Gil was found dead at his home in Mexico City, authorities confirmed.

The musician stated that he was anonymous. accused through the #MeTooMusicosMexicanos (#MeTooMexicanMusicians) of Twitter hashtag for abusing and harbading a woman while she was 13 years old.

"I will say categorically, this accusation is false," said Vega Gil's letter. "Let me clarify that my death is not an admission of guilt, but a radical statement of innocence, I only want to clear the way that my son will follow in the future."

Paola Hernandez, of Botellita de Jerez, said he spoke to Vega Gil about 2 am, about two hours before his death.

"He was really sad and pissed off, he did not know how to erase his name.He said he was not guilty … he was worried about how his son would accept all this" , said Hernandez during a radio interview.

The death of Vega Gil sparked an acrimonious debate on Mexican social media. Some argued that if he was innocent, he should have erased his name in the Mexican judicial system, while others said that public opinion, including online, the "same", had already convicted and permanently damaged his reputation.

Vega Gil ended his letter. : "Do not blame anyone for my death, this suicide is a conscious decision, voluntary, free and personal Hasta pronto."
