The High Court of Rajasthan held a hearing on the appeal of Salman Khan in the controversial blackbuck poaching case today. Salman Khan challenged the High Court's verdict against his five-year sentence and appealed to the Court of Sessions. The proceedings were adjourned by the High Court, which has now asked the actor "Dabbang" to attend the hearing for the next hearing on July 4. Last year, in April, Salman was found guilty in the poaching case in 1998 and sentenced to five years in jail.

In addition to paying a fine of Rs 10,000, Salman spent two nights in Jodhpur Central Prison before being released on bail last year. The poaching incident took place during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hai in October 1998. The co-defendants in the case Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre were acquitted last year.

Salman was accused of killing two blackbucks. at Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village, near Jodhpur, on the night of 1 to 28 October 1998. The court found Salman guilty last year. He was charged under section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act. Salman Khan is currently shooting for Dabbang 3.
