At the end of Game of Thrones Season 7, Samney Tarly and Bran "Three-Eyed Grouchy" gather to conclude that Jon Snow's parents are Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. which means that he is the true heir to the iron throne. He is also the nephew of Daenerys Targaryen, which will make for an embarrbading conversation once they discover that their boat cruise was in fact a light incest.
But the whole problem of incest is a conversation for another time, because a major hurdle that Jon, Sam and Bran will have to overcome, is to try to prove that Jon is in reality a Targaryen. Does anyone, especially Cersei Lannister, go to talk to Jon's weird little brother who says he can see in the past? Absolutely not! The only other evidence they have is an old record of High Septon Maynard that simply states that Rhaegar had canceled his marriage to Elia Martel and married Lyanna Stark in Dorne. But although it is something that emanated from the fallen Targaryen dynasty, it does not really prove the true identity of Jon, Aegon Targaryen.
So, what could they do to prove his identity with the help of material evidence?
is to put Jon on the back of a dragon. Yes, history shows that it's not necessary to be noble in Targaryen to ride a dragon, but will anyone really ask Jon's to come? 39, he is on the back of a dragon? We have already seen Drogon take pleasure in Jon during Season 7 at the first meeting. Imagine Jon on the back of a dragon claiming to be a Targaryen, which would be very convincing.
But there could be another one apart from intimidating Jon to prove his lineage.
All of a sudden. first, a bit of basic knowledge of Jon's father Rhaegar Targaryen, described as a brave, kind and wise man, and a gentle romantic Lyanna Stark was jeopardized by his love, but he was also a musician, as Said Barristan Selmy to Daenerys Targaryen of Rhaegar in A Storm of Swords :
When you heard him play the high harp with the silver ropes and sing twilights and tears and the death of kings you could not not feel that he was singing of himself and those he loved.
s Jon Connington remembers in A Dragon Dance :
At the welcome party, the prince took his silver-stringed harp and played for them Jon Connington remembered a cha nson of love and misfortune, and every woman in the room cried when he was laying the harp
In other words, the guy was famous for playing the harp. And since the beginning of Game of Thrones rumor has it that this famous harp of Rhaegar Targaryen is in Winterfell's crypts with the body of Lyanna Stark. Now, this would only confirm what we know about Maynard's records, so there must be something more important there.
Returning to the first episode of Game of Thrones in which Robert Baratheon leaves a feather on the grave of Lyanna Stark. This feather has been recalled several times during the series, most recently in Thrones' latest teaser showing the destruction of Winterfell. What could be in this grave so important?
My personal theory is that Rhaegar wrote a true song of fire and fire for his young son Aegon. For reference, here is a vision that Dany sees in the House of Immortal Books:
The man had his brother's hair, but he was taller and his eyes were rather dark indigo than lilac. "Aegon," he said to a woman who was nursing a newborn baby in a large wooden bed. "What better name for a king?" "Do you want to make him a song?" the woman asked. "He has a song," replied the man. "He is the prince who has been promised and his song is that of ice and fire." He looked up when he said it and his eyes met Dany's, and he seemed to see her standing behind the door. "There must be one more," he says, although he is talking to her or to the woman in bed, she could not say it. "The dragon has three heads."
Is it possible that the Song of Ice and Fire that gives its name to George RR Martin's epic book series is a true song written by Rhaegar Targaryen to commemorate the birth of his son and Lyanna Stark's son Aegon Targaryen? Is it possible that Rhaegar wrote this song and that it is placed with Lyanna stark with his harp in his grave as evidence of the true lineage of Jon Snow?
