Vikrant Mbadey is the kind of actor who imposes a premature judgment on you. He just has that kind of comforting face. And then, he almost always proves that you are wrong in virtually every role he has played so far ( A Death in the Gunj and more recently Made in Heaven). That is why he is perfectly chosen in the series Hotsar Special Criminal Justice.
As You Begin to Look Criminal Justice – an Indian licensed adaptation of a series produced by the BBC Criminal Justice (and very similar to Riz Ahmed The Night From) – The first thing that strikes you is: "How can a person like Vikrant Mbadey play the role of a taxi driver?" This is a superficial judgment, stemming from years of stereotypical depictions of blue-collar jobs on the Indian small screen, but the series deliberately plays about it. In doing so, they set the tone for a somewhat predictable series in the plot, but unpredictable in the arcs (especially for those who have not seen the source document, like me).
You will end up with many questions throughout the series and you will not get too many answers. Joining the points then becomes the work of the viewer, not intellectually, but confusing. It can be difficult and frustrating.

Criminal Justice Aditya Sharma is a student doing her MBA. His family owns a first taxi (play on Uber / Ola) and he sometimes helps him by guiding him during the price rise to earn extra money. One night, he takes a pbadenger, Sanaya Rath (Madhurima Roy), and leaves his phone in his taxi. When he returns to his apartment to drop the phone, they answer him (she is from the same college) and end up sleeping together after a few shots of whiskey and drugs with drugs (it looks like Digene but we are told that this 39, is MDMA). When Aditya wakes up, he discovers that Sanaya has been stabbed several times, but he does not remember anymore.
The issue then splits into two final halves: one follows the criminal trial of the incident, two lawyers at the center (the hilarious Pankaj Tripathi (Madhav Mishra and Mita Vashisht), who both are working to prove that Aditya is innocent, the other follows Aditya's journey into jail and how he turns from a slender, lanky asthmatic kid into a Bulbaded-Up ™. [19659005] In the beginning, we spend a lot of time restoring normality around Aditya's life, laughing freely, playing football with friends, having good relations with his older sister (who is pregnant), which dramatically contrasts with his life in jail, where he is intimidated, irrelevant and puts four episodes into habituation to domestic politics.These scenes are the highlight of Criminal Justice , perhaps since one of the creative forces is Sridhar Raghavan, whose Ek Hasina Thi had similar themes. In the film, Urmila Matongkar eventually ends up in prison inadvertently and has to navigate a radically different way of life, becoming harder, more complicated, almost survivor.

Judicial proceedings in Criminal Justice are a bit dramatic, and you often find yourself having to go through them to access the parts of the series that are inside the prison. If there was not Madhav Mishra, a fool both sincere and sincere, and the superimposed performance of Pankaj Tripathi, this whole story would fall flat. All the humor of the series belongs to the character of Tripathi – and he drives it into the park (honestly, when did he ever do it?).
Criminal Justice attempts to portray itself as a mystery murder. -cum-procedural-drama, where you can not tell if Aditya is really guilty or not. But no nuance has been added to this fundamental issue of the series. From the first episode, you are shown in different ways that Aditya is not guilty (actually, this is not a spoiler). The only character who retains a nuance in Criminal Justice is Jackie Shroff, who plays Mustafa bhai, an incarcerated Godfather who appears to be the most respected dean. It is always nice to see Jackie Shroff on the screen, especially for her unique and effortless actor play. He brings here his [ B hiduness' to his performance and helps Aditya to turn into something you do not want to spoil.
The final revelation (did Aditya kill Sanaya? If no, who happened and what happened exactly?) Is not a satisfying hint as much as I would have liked it to be, but by the time you reach the tenth episode of this series (each episode playing for nearly 50 minutes), you're happy to find the fence .
Perhaps we are tougher with movies / series when we know the creative forces behind them and have seen some of their brilliant earlier work. Some of the episodes of Criminal Justice are led by Tigmanshu Dhulia, and they are the ones who stand out. But Criminal Justice becomes a matter of too many expectations (because of names like Vikrant Mbadey, Dhulia, Jackie Shroff, Pankaj Tripathi) but is disappointed by the basic story. Their performances, however, completely mask this disappointment; everyone is nice to watch.
Even if criminal justice is not an excessive spectacle (the rhythm is incoherent and predictable cliffhangers), you will see it well afterwards. It's the power to play well. In addition, Viktor Mbadey should be given more lead roles; it's time and he's ready.
