The actor who made his Bollywood debut with Kedarnath last December saw his second release, Simmba, the same month. She is currently working on her third film – Imtiaz Ali directed Love Aaj Kal 2.

The 2009 original film, Love Aaj Kal, featured the father of Sara's actor, Saif Ali Khan, alongside Deepika Padukone. Saif said in a statement about Sara: "This is a beautiful film and I am very happy especially that Sara is working with Imtiaz Ali. I wish the best to the young stars – Sara and Kartik Aaryan. "
