All that matters for Season 8

A complete recap of the seventh season of Game of Thrones focuses on the moments and revelations of the last season.

In the last week of a seven-week series, we recap the key points of Game of Thrones season 7. ICYMI, you can read recaps of season 1, of the season 2, season 3, season 4, season 5 and season 6 via these links.

Season 7 was the first of the last two shortened seasons. With just seven episodes, there was a long way to go, both figuratively and literally, as the characters used their fastest travel options on many occasions. (I've been working on calculations and all that made sense again, relax, travel tales.)

Keep in mind : The following points should serve as reminder of what happened during the season, but are centered on season 8. Some key points will be examined in favor of what will become important this season.

What Happened When Game of Thrones Season 7

Game of Thrones The seventh season kicked off with one of the best revenge scenes of any Series. Arya Stark, recently released from Walder Frey's intelligent and satisfying badbadination, has changed her face and has gathered every important person in the Frey family for a treat. Then she poisoned them all. "Leave a live wolf and sheep will never be safe." Unbelievable.

From there, Arya went to King's Landing to murder Cersei and to strike another name off his list. After meeting Ed Sheeran and some of her friends, she met her old friend Hot Pie and discovered that Jon Snow had taken over Winterfell. She decided to go to the north of her family and met her grandmother, Nymeria, who now commands a pack of wolves. Nymeria's path imitates Arya in that she does not want to be a pet. She is crazy and takes care of "hundreds" of wolves, so Arya is forced to say goodbye (for the moment).

At Winterfell, the meeting of Arya and Sansa was warm at first, but Arya quickly became skeptical about Sansa's motives and her alleged lack. support for Jon during his absence. Littlefinger saw this as an opportunity to turn the sisters against each other. He put a plan in place, as he does, and ended up being sold by this bright, Bran Stark, who can now see everything that's going on. Assbadination in episode 7, Littlefinger gives us another very satisfying moment Game of Thrones .

Another important moment occurred in Winterfell when Sam and Gilly came to help in the coming war. . Bran had discovered that Jon was actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Sam (actually, Gilly) learned from an old master's notes that Rhaegar and Lyanna were also secretly married when all this happened. Jon Snow is the legitimate heir to the Iron Throne and a full Targaryen.

Jon traveled extensively during Season 7. After discovering the huge amount of dragonglbad under Dragonstone, he sent a raven to tell him how useful he was. it would be in the coming Great War. Jon got on horseback and headed for Dragonstone to meet Daenerys and negotiate a mining agreement. When he arrived, she was more concerned about the fact that he "bends the knee" than anything else. These two meetings brought us one of the most amusing moments in the history of Game of Thrones .

After some convincing and very practical cave hieroglyphics, Dany agreed to let Jon mine the area and take what he needed. Meanwhile, Dany, Tyrion, and Varys were crazy in every battle they waged against the Lannisters. They took Casterly Rock because Jaime had left it empty and attacked Highgarden, a useful castle filled with gold and provisions. The frustration accentuated, Dany decided that it was time to do a show of force. She called Drogon, pulled up the Dothraki and went to the supply convoy to burn Lannister 's army. This moment was by far the most effective Drogon was in the series.

Once she had finished taking stock of Jaime, Jon and his advisory group had convinced him that it was time to put together a plan that was not too hot. -ey (like his father). The real war was the war against the dead, the rest could be settled afterwards. Jaime did his best to convince Cersei of this as well.

Jon and a small crew of the world's best swordsmen ventured north of the wall to retrieve a wight. If they could show southerners that the threat was real, it would be easier for them to convince them to join the cause. Unfortunately for them, the wights act as bedbugs, that is to say that when we scream, the others flock. The crew found themselves trapped on an island, surrounded by weight and survived only thanks to Gendry's talents. Before the crew was ambushed, he was fired against the wall to inform Dany. She showed up the next day and saved everyone except Jon, who, once again, tried to sacrifice himself for all the others. Dany brought the three dragons into the rescue mission, not knowing that the king of the night was a world-clbad javelin thrower. He launched Viserion with the spear, killing him and finally reviving him as a voracious dragon. The craft was one for one, a little annoying wight for a fire-breathing undead blue dragon. Not good .

Dany took off with everyone except Jon before the king of the night killed a second of his children. Eventually, Jon came out of the water and was saved by Mr. Timing himself, Uncle Benjen. Benjen stalled him on his horse and threw him back against the wall while he held back the treasure of the warriors. RIP Uncle Benjen (we think). Jon went back against the wall and was boarded by a ship headed south with Dany and the rest of the Dragonstone crew.

Everyone finally gathered at King's Landing for a parlay. The wight was revealed, Cersei and Euron were terrified and Cersei promised his forces in the North to fight the dead. She then revealed that she was bluffing and that Euron and she had worked out her own plan before the meeting. Euron is actually gone to recover the Golden Company, an elite army of 20,000 mercenaries paid with gold from the Highgarden raid. Cersei's plan is to allow all others to lead the Great War and confront those who remain. She thinks it's her best chance to keep her bad on the iron throne and, to be honest, she may be right. Jaime did not like the plan at all and the season ended. He took the road north to Winterfell to fight for life. He's going to have some explanations to make when he sees Bran Stark (whom he hit from the window of a tower during season 1.)

In the last moments of the season, the l 39 Army of the Dead has reached the wall of Eastwatch by the Sea. . With his newly acquired dragon, the king of the night quickly worked on the wall, reducing it to ashes and marching his army to Westeros. Not good . This is not the only shocking moment at the end of episode 7, however. The whole season created a badual tension between Jon and Dany, who could no longer hold her back. The two men went there, completely unaware that they were actually intertwined. Dany is Jon's aunt and it will be an interesting conversation at the beginning of Game of Thrones the final season. As Jaime Lannister says, "We do not choose who we love".
