The scene would have taken place during a ceremony in China and reportedly told for the first time online by an entertainment blogger.
It has since been widely shared by the Chinese media.
According to Star Video affiliated with Hunan Legal Channel the groom was separated from his ex-girlfriend because they had different personalities.
He seems to have been taken by surprise when the woman came uninvited.

At one point during the proceedings, the facilitator attempted to save the marriage by quoting a famous proverb: "If you ask life what is it?" "Love is to devote your life to someone else."
At the end of the filming, the groom can be seen chasing his wife, leaving her rival in love crying alone on the stage.
