Amber Heard on Thursday urged a judge to dismiss a $ 50 million defamation lawsuit her ex-husband Johnny Depp had filed about an editorial on domestic violence that she had written in the Washington Post and had provided new evidence to support his allegations of ill-treatment.

"Johnny Depp physically and verbally abused Amber Heard," said his lawyer, Eric George, in a statement. "Since their divorce, Mr. Depp has continued to publicly harbad Mrs. Heard and has tried to clear the world by refusing her abuse. It is high time to put an end to Mr Depp's despicable conduct. "
Depp's lawsuit, filed last month, called the allegations of domestic violence "categorically and patently false".

"They were part of a hoax developed to generate positive publicity for Mrs. Heard and advance her career," the lawsuit says. claiming that "she is the author".

Depp's lawyer, Adam Waldman, said he was reviewing the new file. He previously said that he and Depp were eager to provide evidence that would erase Depp's name.

The Heard article published in the Heard newspaper, published in December, does not mention Depp by name or describe an incident, but it deals with the critical situation of these people in society.

"I rose up against badual violence and I faced the anger of our culture," wrote the 32-year-old actress, adding that she felt as if she was tried in a public court.

But Depp's lawsuit says that it was clear that Heard was talking about him and that it aggravated the damage already done to his career by the allegations.

The lawsuit says Depp, 55, has suffered financial losses as a result of the charges, including the fact that his role as Captain Jack Sparrow has been ruled out of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Heard's lawyers also contend that the trial must be transferred to Los Angeles because it is there that the relevant events took place and the court would be able to summon witnesses to testify and to discover facts.

Heard the first accused Depp of domestic violence in May 2016, the year after their marriage. They divorced in 2017.

The actress, whose credits include Aquaman and Justice League, met Depp on the set of their movie The Rum Diary of 2011.
