The actor and politician JK Rithesh dies of cardiac arrest during a political campaign

Politician and actor JK Rithesh, who was last seen in RJ Balaji's LKG, died of a heart attack while campaigning in his hometown of Ramanathapuram this afternoon . According to reports, he was reportedly taken to hospital after complaining of severe chest pains, but could not be saved. He was 46 years old.

Rithesh played a negative role in LKG, with RJ Balaji and Priya Anand in lead roles. Previously, he had played in movies like Kabad Neer, Nayagan and Pen Singam. He was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka in 1973, then in 1976, his family emigrated to Rameshwaram. He debuted in films with Kabad Neer, director of Chinni Jayanth, after graduating in civil engineering. Later, he took a break from his role to join politics. He started politics with the DMK, but in 2014 he left the party and joined AIADMK.
