Lucasfilm decided to put the Star Wars movies on hold after the release of Episode IX, Rise of Skywalker to focus on their broadcasts for the streaming service of Disney's parent company. The studio launches its own Disney + streaming platform this year in November and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said her team would now work toward creating a broader narrative strategy.
