"Bhansali is a visionary. People are too fast to judge. There is a plan in place and a reason behind the casting [unusual]. I'm excited to work with Salman. Even I never thought that this combination [working with Khan and Bhansali] was possible. It will be an intriguing trip and Salman is really warm and kind. They form a magical duet and I'm happy to have it, "said Alia at Mid-day.
Alia is currently promoting director Abhishek Varman, Kalank, in which she is standing alongside Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy. Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt.
The 26-year-old worked with Varun in several films. She said that having Varun on Kalank was extremely comforting for her because her character and the movie were hard to work with.
"Abhishek and Varun are my best friends. Varun allows me to feel comfortable at work and it is essential because it is a difficult film. There is moral support when the work becomes overwhelming. I was shooting simultaneously on Brahmastra and Kalank, some days were simply impossible to live. It is not easy to live up to Abhishek's vision. Roop, my character, is a millenium living in the 40s. Her thought process can be evolved, but she is always graceful in her behavior. We deliberately kept Roop flawed. I like it because as an actor, it's hard to bring out the vulnerabilities of a character. Being perfect all the time is boring and a burden. The climax of the film was exhausting, "said the actor.
