Kesari of Akshay Kumar Continues his Strong Box Office Career
Akshay Kumar's latest film actor, Kesari, may well be in his fourth week, but the film still rings the box office cash registers. Realizing a mbadive feat, the film has now hit an impressive figure of 150 crores of rupees at the Indian box office.
The new special was shared by film producer Karan Johar on his Instagram feed. He writes: "The power of #Kesari! Running successfully in cinemas near you!"
It is interesting to note that the film also marks Rs 150's first crore-rude from Akshay Kumar to Bollywood. Even if the Hindi version of his Tamil film, 2.O, with Rajinikanth, had hit a solid figure of over 190 crores of rupees, this is his first 150-crore movie in Bollywood.
Taran Adarsh, badyst and film critic, also shared the winnings of the film in a tweet and said the film was a success. While the film hit 105.86 crores of rupee during its first week, 29.66 rupees in the second and 11.69 crores in the third, the fourth week has reported up to now a gain of 3, 70 crores to reach a total figure of 150.91 rupees.
Adarsh also revealed that the film counted 50 crores on day 3, 75 crores on day 4, 100 crores on day 7 and 150 crores on 25th day.
Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is portrayed by Parineeti Chopra and articulates around the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897, during which 21 Sikhs of the British Indian contingent confronted an army of 10,000 Afghan invaders. Co-funded by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films and Azure Entertainment, the film was released on March 21 and to this day draws viewers.
While Kesari has revealed himself to be a blockbuster, Akshay will also be on display at Jagan Shakti's Mangal Mission, alongside Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu and Sharman Joshi, and the Good News. Raj Mehta with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. Housefull 4 by Farhad Samji, alongside Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde and Rana Daggubati, in key roles.
