There is no doubt that 2018 was a pretty bad year for Sai Dharam Tej. The "supreme hero" suffered a great setback when Inttelligent opened up to a lukewarm response at the box office and failed to impress the critics. After that, he returned to the big screen with Tej I Love You which turned out to be a bigger disappointment and sank without a trace. At present, SDT is in the spotlight thanks to its latest film, Chitralahari, released Friday (April 12, 2019). Now, his first weekend report is out and it looks like Chitralahari has done better than expected.
A good first weekend
According to some reports, Chitralahari managed to collect a 3-day share of Rs 59.59 lakh in Krishna District and ended its first weekend on a respectable note. The movie seems to have benefited a lot because of the summer break.
Majili slows down
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni, vice president Majili, released April 5, 2019, the box office continues to be well . However, it slowed down a bit, which indirectly benefited Chitralahari.
SDT supreme reign in the United States!
Chitralahari also exceeded expectations in the United States and beat Jawaan to become SDT's most profitable film on the market. Needless to say, this is a feat that will force Mega fans into a state of frenzy.
The WOM is Mixed
The general feeling is that Chitralahari is a pretty mediocre film that is disappointing because of the writing ugly and disappointing direction. However, at the same time, some fans said that SDT was pretty good in Chitralahari and had delivered the best performance of his career. As such, the WOM is mixed and this could create a long-term problem for the film.
To be concluded ..
Chitralahari is likely to have a relatively decent run for a few more days. However, it could slow down once Jersey is on the screens on April 19, 2019. Whatever it is, Chitralahari has exceeded expectations and has virtually saved Sai Dharam Tej's career.
