Mr . You-Know-Nothing Jon Snow finally knows something: his true identity.
Let Jon's day announce the news at the premiere of [GameStars' Sunday. Sam Tarly (John Bradley) tells Jon (Kit Harington) that he's neither the son of Ned Stark nor a bastard, but a Targaryen, the son of Rhaegar Targaryen (the son of the mad king) and Daenerys's brother) and Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister). It turns out that Ned claimed to be Jon's father to protect him, as a promise made to Lyanna.
"You are the true king: Aegon Targaryen, sixth of his name, protector of the kingdom, all," Says Sam.
Jon seems to have seen a ghost, which is understandable! "Daenerys is our queen," he says. "She should not be," says Sam. "It's a betrayal," replies Jon, to which Sam remarks sharply: "It's the truth."
Jon knows it now: Ned Stark is his uncle and the Stark children are his cousins; he is the heir to the iron throne; and he may have fallen in love with his aunt (maybe he is in love).
So he has some decisions to make.
The public disclosure of this information carries many risks, the least of which is the chaos spark in the north, where the undead are heading and where the living are already wary of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). And more than anyone, Jon is the team that cares about politics, so maybe he'll be quiet to keep a united front against the Night King.
We were also reminded during the creation that Daenerys had gotten enough of a mood, especially when it comes to people questioning his authority as a queen. She has dragon fire for those who do not want to bend the knee and she is not afraid to use it (see: Sam Tarly's brother, the father). Jon's filiation threatens Daenerys and what fueled him throughout the series: the unshakable conviction that she is the legitimate heiress of the Iron Throne.
So, yes, Jon has many reasons to be silent – except that Jon cares a lot about telling the truth. Do you remember his annoying refusal to lie to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) when it seemed like it was what was needed to form an alliance that would save humanity?
There is also the more urgent problem of his love affair with Daenerys. Davos Seaworth, Varys and Tyrion Lannister have all indicated, in the first season, that these two love birds should perhaps make it official already.
But now, Jon knows that he's sleeping with his aunt. Incest is usually a huge no-no to Westeros and, presumably, Jon gets fat. But perhaps it would not be so bad for Daenerys, especially since the Targaryens have married siblings for 300 years "to keep the lineage pure", as Cersei Lannister put it during the Season 1.
Some of the Targaryen born generations of brother-sister pairs seemed to be mad. "Half of the Targaryen have gone crazy, is not it," had already noticed Cersei. "What's the saying?" Whenever a Targaryen is born, the gods throw a coin. ""
People watch Daenerys to see if she shows signs of her father's bloodthirsty thirst, the kind that led her to want to blow up King's Landing and kill all her civilians rather than to return to the invading forces. So maybe Jon will be frank when he sees Daenerys going away from the deepest. "You gave your crown to save your people," Sam told him. "Will she do the same?"
If Jon decides to go public, he will be able to use the evidence Sam has gathered and the clairvoyant powers of Bran. And, for fear of not believing it, he can affirm that he is able to ride dragons without problem.
One thing we know for sure: all that Jon Snow has exhibited so far will only increase as he dies. what to do.
