The premiere of Game of Thrones' Season 8 did not only begin to provide clues about the end of the show, but it also revealed what probably happened to Ed Sheeran's character.
] A scene from the episode shows Bronn "appreciating the attentions" of three women. One of them tells how a red-haired Lannister soldier, named "Eddie," met his fate during the battle when Daenerys burned Lannister's soldiers with his dragons.
"This boy, Eddie, came back with the face burned, no eyelids now," said one of the women, according to Polygon.
Sheeran appeared in the Game of Thrones Game Season 7 premiere, but that's the only episode in which he finds himself. He made his way into Game of Thrones in part thanks to the predilection of actress Arya Stark Maisie Williams for the singer "Shape of You"
The appearance of Sheeran on Game of Thrones sparked a lot of debates and controversies. The director of the episode defended the appearance of Sheeran in this episode and praised him for his role as an actor.
Sheeran himself told BuzzFeed that he thought his character was just "relaxing" after the battle. "It was fun to be in Game of Thrones, but I really think they should have killed me in this episode, I think it would probably have been redemption for people who do not have it." They did not like it, "he said. So it turns out that fans got what they wanted in a certain way.
Sheeran was not the first musician to play Game of Thrones. Sigur Ros, Coldplay's drummer, and members of the metal band Mastodon have all been part of the series in the past.
