Sanjay Dutt's next film on Bollywood is Kalank and it's a big deal in many ways.
On the one hand, the film will reunite the actor with Madhuri Dixit on screen after 22 years. The actor admitted that he was "a little nervous" about this meeting after all this time.
But another surprise that Dutt gave was the inspiration for this film and that Kalank was originally a concept of the late filmmaker Yash. Johar.
Dutt revealed that he had heard the director mention for the first time the idea during the filming of Gumrah's 1993 .
"When filming of Gumrah Yash uncle briefly mentioned Dharma Productions is like a family, so when Karan approached me the film, I had to do it."
He adds: "It's also a coincidence that my character's name is Balraj, which is my father's [Sunil Dutt] He is also from Pakistan during the score, which gives him an emotional connection."
Kalank which is also performed by Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha, is due to be released on April 17. [19659008]
