Ghost does his job too well.
By Jesse Schedeen
The prolonged absence of Ghost has many fans wondering when he will finally make his comeback in season 8. Luckily, he could arrive in time to defend Winterfell's The White Walkers.
That's what the Huffington Post says, who interviewed last year VFX Supervisor, Joe Bauer. "Oh, you'll see him again, he has plenty of time on the screen for Season 8," Bauer told HuffPost, "He's very present and doing pretty cool things in Season 8."
He also pointed out that including werewolves can be tricky because it requires a complex mix of synthetic effects and sequences of real wolves (which are not exactly the easiest animals to train) , which also explains why Ghost was missing from other crucial episodes like The Battle of the Bastards.
Season 7 was almost a short scene from Jon / Ghost. As WinterIsComing.net pointed out, the track of Season 7 DVD game commentary contains a reference to a deleted scene Writer Brian Cogman explains, "There was a corner here where Jon came out of the crypt and Ghost came to him. and told him, "Take care of [Sansa] watch over it for me." But I suppose These werewolves are expensive, I guess it was cut. "
Actor John Bradley echoed this feeling recently when IGN asked him if his character, Samwell, would have a scene with Ghost in Season 8." I do not think I have any interaction with Ghost this year, "said Bradley." This does not mean that others do not, but they are expensive, these CGI wolves, so they must be used sparingly. "
I hope that Ghost will participate in the epic battle of Winterfell, a conflict that would be "the longest consecutive battle sequence ever engaged in a film."
