Deva, who directed the original film, said that his team had made no significant changes to the Hindi version. "Basically, the story undergoes no change, if it is to refine and polish the canvas, and so on. It's very relevant. I've rewritten the script, the dialogues were provided by Farhad. The film stars alongside Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff and Ali Fazal.

"Every character has depth in their parts. By the time I told her (Manisha) the story, she said yes. The kind of respect and camaraderie they share (Dutt and Manisha) added to the movie and it's magic to see it on screen. Producers plan to release it in August or September, but nothing has been finalized yet.

Deva, known for films like Autonagar Surya and Vennela, said that he had no plans to enter Bollywood as a director. "I was not particularly determined to make my Bollywood debut. It happened with a positive atmosphere and you do not want to let go of it. Deva was nested to co-direct Netflix's pre-baahubali film – Sivagami. The upcoming show is based on the previous book The Rise of Sivagami.
