Director Kishore Tirumala wrote to Chitralahari keeping Nani in mind. Mythri Movie Makers was looking for a screenplay for a film with Nani and the director of Nenu Sailaja invented the Chitralahari scenario.
Nani requested changes to the scenario and subsequently rejected the scenario because it failed.
Then Kishore Tirumala met Sai Dharam Tej and got his approval in no time. Chitralahari, released last Friday, has performed well at the box office.
The film was deliberately sold at a lower price given Tej's recent history. Thanks to the low prices, Chitralahari is about to become a safe company for its investors.
Did Nani miss a hit movie? Nani's current market is above Rs. 30 crore mark, which would have been a difficult target for a mediocre scenario like Chitralahari.
