Nani shares the space of the screen with Shraddha Srinath in Jersey

The last film of Nani, Jersey, was screened. Before the release, the actor had declared that this film had the best work of his actress career so far.

Below are excerpts from Nani's interaction with the media:

Q. Is Jersey based on the life of cricket player Raman Lamba?

I do not know the story of Raman Lamba's life. It's just a rumor circulating on social media. Jersey is not a biopic. It's a fictional story.

Q. Naga Chaitanya also played the role of a cricket player in Majili, recently released. Will there be a similarity between Jersey and Majili?

I have not looked at Majili yet. I can not comment on the similarities between the two films.

Q. Have you ever played cricket before this movie?

I played cricket when I was young. I was also part of my school's cricket team, but I rarely had the chance to play in the game because I was not considered a valuable player. While shooting for Jersey, I could understand the true essence of the game. Cricket is not just about hitting a ball with a bat. I attended cricket clbades for the movie at the Daniels Cricket Academy in Hyderabad.

What is the importance of the father-son relationship in this film?

The film is entirely based on the relationship between father and son. That's one of the reasons why I have such an emotional connection with this film. I can also tell you with confidence that you will feel the same way about the movie when you see it. I can say that Jersey is the best movie of my career.

You did not look so confident about your previous movies.

My confidence comes from the fact that I am extremely happy with the work I have done. Jersey. I am in a special place now because I feel that I made a good movie.

Why did this film convince you to do it?

I was immersed in history when Gowtam Tinnanuri told me about it. I could not think of anything else by listening to the script. The story has given me goose bumps and left me feeling heavy.

Tell us about your experience working with Sathyaraj

Working with Sathyaraj sir has been a great learning experience for me. I remember an incident during which he traveled Madurai to Hyderabad to shoot a scene in which he had only a few lines. He was waiting for his shot in the caravan, but that day we were unable to do his scene for any reason. When I went to apologize to him, he was so magnanimous that he did not even express a small disappointment. We regard Kattappa in Baahubali as a symbol of loyalty. In reality, Sathyaraj's loyalty to the cinema is greater than Kattappa.

Can we expect to see you in broadcasts for streaming platforms?

I do not have any plans yet. But the digital platform will be very big in the future. I think we still do not know how cinema and streaming platforms will coexist. But I am open to exploring the web space provided you get good content.

Gang Leader has an iconic status in Telugu cinema and is also the title of your next film. Do you feel the pressure?

Not at all I am a big fan of Gang Leader, My Gang Leader is a totally different story of a completely different kind.
