In Kanchana 3 Raghava Lawrence kept all the commercial moments that worked with his target audience in the previous two editions. The most important is that Lawrence has also reflected his image as a philanthropist in the flashback episode and sent a strong statement to his critics.
Raghava (Lawrence) plays again the young man who is easily afraid and follows him. Strange techniques to get out of his fear for supernatural powers. He is possessed by not one but two ghosts to avenge a powerful politician! The film begins with one of two ghosts – Kaali (Lawrence again), who runs a home for needy children and youth with physical disabilities.
When corrupt politicians try to seduce him with fancy black money, he says no, which puts him and his children in trouble. The rest of the film tells how Kaali and his lover want Raghava to take revenge against the corrupt minister …
Lawrence again provides enough laughs to the innocent Raghava. As Kaali, he puts the mbad hero hat with the mask of the Messiah. The actor also impresses us with his ability to change expression both as Kaali and the foreign girl in the second half of the film. The biggest attraction of Kanchana 3 is the hilarious combo Kovai Sarala, Sriman and Devadarshini. Together, they bring back the roof of the intermission scene, which will not fail to work with the mbades and it will have the same value in television channels. The three girls – Vedhika, Oviya and Nikki Tamboli were
used only for the show of the skin.
The film will surely work with the audience who loved the other three parts of the horror comedy franchise. Kanchana 3 is an improved version of the rest of the components in terms of budget, splendor and overall production value. But it seems that Lawrence prefers to finish the film with a climax and discordant works that have worked for the horror franchise, so we get the same treatment in this movie.
None of the songs are catchy, but Lawrence, as usual, shines with his racy footsteps in every issue. Vetri's camera presents all the percussive numbers with its pompous visuals and Thaman's score gives enough thrills in the horror scenes.
In conclusion, Kanchana 3 is Raghava Lawrence's "pei" feature film. So, those who loved the franchise Kanchana / Muni will certainly love it too.
