Over the last two years, Marvel Studios released his first film with a female face and his first with a black lead. And since both films have surpbaded the billion mark at the box office, you can imagine that the production company has every interest in continuing to diversify its list of superheroes. Of course, in a recent interview with IANS, Kevin Feige hinted that the team intended to bring some positivity to the franchise very soon.
When asked if he would like to adapt superheroes who do not have the "Yes, I would, because I could maybe become a superhero." But on a more serious note, Feige then suggested that it was indeed the case.
"Traditionally, if you look at how they are drawn in comics, they reach mythical proportions very iconic," said Feige about the Marvel superheroes. "We have many actors and actresses that have real mythical proportions, but I'll just say yes and maybe sooner than you think."
This remark "earlier than you think" seems to suggest that Marvel has a specific movie. and a specific superhero in mind. But unless Avengers: Endgame or Spider-Man: Far From Home are about to give us a new impetus, it sounds like a Phase 4 development.
