There were so many things to play in Game of Thrones tonight – Jamie and Brienne! Arya and Gendry! This horrible moment of truth between Jon and Dany! – and yet, Tormund of all people could have become the viral star of the night. The former favorite of everyone, Free Folk, was here with the absolute best especially with regards to his feelings for one of Tarth's Brienne. For while everyone in the series is panicking and preparing the end in the approach of the Battle of Winterfell, Tormund has its priorities.
Upon his arrival, Tormund stares at the price, although unfortunately he is outclbaded by Jaime and his unresolved relationship with Brienne. Tormund does not get discouraged, however, because if Jaime can have a physical and emotional depth and a common history with Brienne, Tormund absolutely beats him when it comes to crazy anecdotes!
As everyone gathered to reflect on his death The day before the battle, Tormund told Brienne, Tyrion and Podrick how he became known as Giantsbane, and perhaps how he had developed a penchant for giant women. Without telling it in detail, the story involved drinking bad milk from a giant lady.
Many viewers were aware and could have used even more Story Time With Tormund.
But we can all agree that the most perfect moment of this episode – Brienne being knighted by Jaime – happened because Tormund is a feminist and called BS on the tradition that says women can not be knights.
