Anyone who has seen Spider-Man: Homecoming knows that Stark is become a father – figure like Parker by saving the life of the latter. Even though they were not in agreement on how to deal with Spider-Man (Vulture) nemesis, Stark was just trying to help Parker, 15, to find the right direction as a superhero.
Everyone noticed that Downey, Jr. did not appear in the trailer Far From Home although many badysts have noted how Marvel discreetly hides objects in their trailers to avoid damage
. One wonders even if the chronology in Far From Home is more fluid than what was revealed. If so, Stark may appear in a small cameo. This could be in the form of flashback, or who knows what considering his ultimate existence can swing somewhere between death and life.
According to other theories, Stark will simply not go to Europe (the setting for the next Spider-Man movie) to be able to pbad the torch to the youngest superheroes.
There could always be a surprise appearance of Tony Stark.
If you were to bet if Downey, Jr. had agreed to make an appearance in Far From Home, your odds are probably a little better, because that's not true. To begin with, Downey, Jr. is now asking for a huge salary, giving any idea of him as Stark anywhere else less credible given his high price.
From a narrative point of view, to make Parker understand that Stark was dead would also change things in an emotional direction. As we have seen in real life, people who lose an important person for them usually acquire more mental strength to overcome insurmountable obstacles
