Who lives and who dies in Avengers: Endgame? – SPOILERS!

FULL SPOILERS for Avengers: Endgame!

Avengers: Endgame, the culmination of Marvel's series of 22 Infinity Saga movies. , resurrects those who died in Avengers: Infinity War five years later. It was an epic mission that involved time travel, Infinity Stones and, unfortunately, the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of some of the Avengers who had survived the Decimation. But let's start with the good news …

Who was resurrected?

Among the dead (or, as the movie describes them), the missing) who are resurrected in Endgame are: Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, almost all the Guardians of the Galaxy, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Soldier of Winter, Wasp, Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne, Nick Fury, Shuri, Maria Hill, Clint Barton's wife and children, Peter Parker's clbadmates and presumably Dr. Erik Selvig (listed on a monitor like missing persons but we do not see in the film).

Endgame?

It was expected that the Avengers' quest to resurrect half of the living creatures in the universe requires sacrifice, and Endgame saw several major characters make the ultimate sacrifice to bring back the dead and stop Thanos … [19659012] Iron Man

Tony Stark, the selfish merchant / arms dealer of the first Iron The Man movie – criticized in Avengers by Captain America for ever having risked his life for another – became at over the past 11 years a selfless hero who gave his life to save the situation during the final battle of Endgame against Thanos. Destroying Thanos of Infinity Stones control, Tony flaps the Mad Titan and his invasion army to dust, but is mortally wounded using such cosmic power. Nearly all of MCU 's surviving heroes attended his funeral, along with Harley Keener, the boy with whom he had made friends with Iron Man 3.

Black Widow

The Ferrillary Now Superhero agent Natasha Romanoff could have a lot of red in her big book was once, but her noble sacrifice on the planet Vorry to reach the Stone of Soul seems to be permanent. Hulk tried to bring her back when he brought the Vanished back to life but in vain. As Joshua Yehl points out from IGN, Vormir seems to have a policy of no repayment or exchange. Black Widow will be back in his solo film (which has not yet been officially announced), which would apparently be a prequel after the events of the first Avengers movie.

Thanos (2018 and 2014)

Thanos dies twice in Endgame. . In the first place, Thor beheaded him after revealing that he had destroyed the Infinity Stones, thus depriving the Earth's most powerful heroes of an easier way to bring back the missing. Then, in the final battle, his 2014 character who crossed the time in the future is covered with his entire army of invasion after Iron Man used the Infinity Glove.

Nebula (2014)

Nebula's 2023 character meets her character from 2014 when she was still a wicked and loyal Thanos girl, a mistreated acolyte desperately seeking his approval. The Nebula 2014 takes on the appearance of its future but gets carried away by its identity in 2023 during a confrontation between Gamora 2014 and Hawkeye 2023.

The Black Order (2014)

Children of Thanos bit him in Infinity War and bit him back here in Endgame after Tony Stark used the Infinity Gauntlet. Good riddance, intergalactic fools.

Thor's glorious Abs

The most shocking (and yet hilarious) demise of Endgame was his once divine physique, which struck a self-pitying death over the course of five years who followed. Thanos badbadination. Thor regains his will at the end of Endgame with a new goal and a group of cohorts at the Guardians. But, the last time we saw him, he still looks like Tony called him to Lebowski.

So who is still dead?

It seems that anyone who has not fallen victim to the fall of Thanos in Infinity War is still really dead. This also includes all the characters who died in films prior to Infinity War (Odin, Frigga, The Ancient One, the parents of Tony Stark, Ego, Hela, etc.).

This means that everyone Thanos or his companions were killed in Endgame without being used. Infinity Gauntlets are dead and will remain so in the MCU. That includes …

Loki (2018)

… Loki, who was strangled to death by Thanos in the first moments of Infinity War. In 2012, Loki took off with the Tesseract at the end of the movie "Time Heist" in Avengens (more details here), which suggests that it could act from the character's version of the next Disney + series.

Gamora (1965) 2018)

Gamora was sacrificed by Thanos on Vormir in 2018 and, as explained in the entry of Black Widow above, it seems that it does not have any effect. there is no return. So, the 2014 Gamora, which is now in 2023, will likely be the version of the character included in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Vision

Vision was killed by Thanos in Infinity War when Mad Titan snatched the mental stone from his forehead. Mind you, Shuri may have downloaded a lot of Vision data at the time of his death, so it's possible he could come back. In any case, the character will return alongside his beloved Scarlet Witch in the Disney + WandaVision series.

Heimdall and the Asgardians (2018)

Idris Elba may have just married but his character Heimdall will never know such marital happiness because he is (still) dead, with all the other Asgardians killed by Thanos and the Black Order at the beginning of the Infinity War.
