Game of Thrones Season 8 has been full of long-awaited reunions between various fan favorite characters, including Night Snow BFFs Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly, who are no longer on the screen together since the final of season 5 almost four years ago. Unfortunately, their reunion was not what lovers of the lovers' party were hoping for, as Sam dropped a bomb on his friend.
After learning that Jon's new lover and partner, Daenerys, had Sam's father and brother executed, Sam declared Jon about his true parentage: it's Aegon Targaryen, the secret son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Which means he's sleeping with his aunt. Whoops.
But that also means, as Sam so succinctly puts it, that Jon is "Aegon Targaryen, sixth of his name, protector of the kingdom, all that."
So, What exactly is Jon's official royal title? Well, after what the series has established with Robert Baratheon and his son Joffrey when they were kings, the official title of Jon is at the very least: Aegon of Targaryen houses and Stark, sixth of his name, king of the Andals and early men, lord of the seven kingdoms and protector of the kingdom (for thirsty fans who know that there were actually eight Aegon Targaryen before Jon Snow, you're right – but for purposes of a royal title, they only count those who sit on the throne. Therefore, Jon would be the sixth of his name, not the ninth.)
As we have all heard repeatedly over the years, other elements can be added to a title, as with Daen erys, whose long royal title is Daenerys Stormborn of Targaryen House, First of his name, the unburned, the queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the first men, Khaleesi of the great sea of grbad, the breaker of chains and the mother of the dragons.
With this in mind, Jon could add several other names to his royal title. He could certainly use "998th Lord Commander of the Night Watch" and "King in the North", two titles that were awarded to him in the series – although it may be odd to have "King" "twice, all the more so that it is moving. back to pbad from king of all men to king of northern men.
The same goes for "the prince who has been promised". According to one theory, Jon Snow is this prophetized savior called "the prince who has been promised", who will defeat the King of the night and his army of undead. But it's a bit odd to use a "prince" title if you're already a king, so it's probably not an excellent choice.
We love the "white wolf," which Lord Wyman Manderly called Jon for avenging red. Marriage after the battle of the bastards. And in a good sense of symmetry, Daenerys being "the unburned", he could also use "the resurrected", since Melisandre brought him back to life after Night Watch excited him.
Fans also made leaning suggestions as "Beater of Bastards", in reference to the conquest of Ramsay Bolton and his army, and "Knower of Nothing", which is a reference to his wild lover, Ygritte. But that might be a bit heavy.
So we could suggest: Aegon of the Targaryen and Stark houses, sixth of his name, the resurrected, king of the Andals and early men, 998th commander of Night Watch, the white wolf, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms. and protector of the kingdom
We think Jon should take a page from Joffrey's book (literally page only of this book) and use both chambers of his royal title. Although, technically, he should only use his father's house, Targaryen, Jon obviously identifies a lot at home Stark, where he was raised. In the books, Stark children say how unusual it is that Joffrey uses both names, but we all know that he felt much closer to his mother's house than to that of his father (and biologically , Joffrey was only Lannister anyway).
So maybe Aegon of the Targaryen and Stark houses and Daenerys Stormborn of the Targaryen house can find a way to rule together, although they are aunt and nephew. They certainly both have titles worthy of a king and a queen.
