Opening Segment – MISS: This seemed to be the type of interview that the WWE should have done with Kofi Kingston during the first Smackdown after WrestleMania, not three weeks later. It was weird to see Michael Cole at Smackdown to start, and then just recap on Kofi's run to get the WWE title match at WM, and then the win over Daniel Bryan was odd. Kofi should have talked about what Kevin Owens had done to Xavier Woods last week. He got there at the end, but the congratulations and recap that led to the song "You deserve it!" Were not necessary and gave Kofi a disgruntled air for having been so happy instead of "happy!" to be angry with Owens.
Bayley vs. Lynch – MISS: The quality of the fight in this match was certainly worthy of Hit. Bayley and Becky Lynch are going to have a good game. But last week seemed like a new start for Bayley. She's far from Sasha Banks, which is good. She showed more of a benefit that was needed. She had a very good match against Charlotte Flair and looked more like a star despite her defeat. WWE then announced that it would be in the Money in the Bank match, which was a good way to take advantage of its momentum. But then she lost to Becky moments later. After the match, she was destroyed by Charlotte. It was quickly defined. Instead of having her face Becky (in what could easily be a big match of PPV), she should have won a victory over anyone on the list. I wonder if she will compete in Charlotte vs Becky at MITB.
Aleister Black – HIT: I continue to be a fan of these promises made by Aleister Black to present to the public. This is the kind of thing that should have happened before he and Ricochet were called to the main list and teamed up. I hope they will serve him well when he returns to the ring in a few weeks. Unlike the stupid videos of Firefly Funhouse, these videos really connect to the fight. It's nice to hear Black talking about the effects of his character on his opponents by referring to the victory over his opponents in wrestling matches. So it is not only his character, but the way this character helps him fight as a wrestler.
Hardys – Sullivan – HIT: It makes sense to turn Jeff Hardy's actual injury into a story accusing Lars Sullivan of it. It's unfortunate that Jeff was hurt when the Hardys were in contention for another push as team champions. At least they can heat Sullivan, it will come out something positive. The fact that R-Truth is the only baby face willing to help the Hardys against Sullivan is not a big statement for the rest of the locker room.
Deville and Rose – HIT: It was a short film, good segment with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. This is an example of how you can advance a scenario, get character development and create intrigue in just minutes. We discovered that only one of these friends can be in MITB, we showed that they still loved each other, even if they had to choose which of the two would play in the match, and we made the final decision of a way that let us think that Rose was dishonest while Deville was more authentic. It was a good scenario and they played their role well.
Reigns – B-Team – MISS: Roman Reigns was fortunate to recover after returning from fighting leukemia. He did some good things right back, but he has now become the same old Big Dog. He will create resentment by calling Smackdown in his yard. WWE will resent him by stacking the pack against him, such as this handicap match against the B-Team with Elias as guest conductor and winning it in the style of Super Reigns. Also, how did Team B get to Smackdown? Why will Superstar Shakeup never end? Team B has connections with fans as adorable adjusters, so why ask them to play on high heels and meet Shane McMahon's expectations here? Why did Reigns punch Vince's face only to tell him that he did it only because Vince was the first person he saw? It was a strange explanation. Overall, it was a long time with a misuse of Reigns
Andrade and Orton vs. Balor & Ali – MISS: Raw has a team with both babyfaces in MITB against both heels in MITB. Why should Smackdown do the same? Maybe when Smackdown moves on Friday night, he will not feel as much of an impersonator. There was so much talent in this game, but there were only 8 minutes left (the Reigns handicap match was 11!) And almost half was in advertising. I could not enter this match at all. I'm sure the quality was good, but the early commercial break and the quick end meant that the match was not worth much.
about everything he was talking about, but these live fans were sitting on their hands. I do not blame them. He died there. Crickets make more noise. After what Owens did last week and how he got the better of Xavier Woods and re-injured him early in the show, why did Kofi take so long to attack Owens? The interview with both figures was fun, but did not deserve the main event. The physics at the end was good, but it took too long to get there.
