In Advance of the Episode Saturday Night Live Mendes Opened Up To Zane Lowe about the series, including filmography specials for Adam Sandler.
"Adam Sandler is here, it's so funny that we're shooting these bumpers and they're giving you a script and the scripts are funny but the things he says between the two make me crack …" said Mendes during the FaceTime interview.
He also teased his appearance on a skit during the episode, without losing any of his detail.
"I think I'm in a skit, I have no idea what it is but I just had a wig installed," said Mendes, as reported for the first time on Rolling Stone . "[Acting] is the most important thing you have to own.As I start to realize that I can own this singing thing, I think I'm going to fall into the actor profession and over, at 100 %. "
The singer also revealed during the interview that he had originally written his new single for Dua Lipa duo pop star.
"I went back to the studio with Teddy Geiger and Nate [Mercreau] and I played it on the piano and I was like oh my god, it would be really cool for Dua Lipa. I shot at the piano just after the release of One Kiss In the voice note – I speak as if I wanted to send to Dua I'm like, 'Ok, Dua, I've got this song, I have only one chorus that we can finish if you want. ""
