Actor- Model Karan Oberoi was arrested for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman in the suburbs of Oshiwara, a police official said Monday.

The woman recently complained to the police that Oberoi, who had a relationship with her since 2016, allegedly raped her on the pretext of marrying him, he said.

He also filmed reprehensible videos of the woman and asked him for money while threatening to broadcast the clips, said the official.

On the basis of the woman's complaint, Oberoi was arrested on Sunday and reserved under Articles 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code, said the chief inspector of the police station. Oshiwara, Shailesh Pasalwad.
Oberoi has played in popular shows such as "Jbadi Jaisi Koi Nahin" and "Inside Edge".

He has also appeared in certain advertisements for cars, motorcycles and clothing.
