Varun will play veteran Govinda, who appeared in the 1995 film directed by Varun's father, David Dhawan. David is also on board to lead the remake.
"I feel honored, grateful and extremely excited to be part of the remake! It's the next challenge I'm ready to take up," Varun told IANS.
The actress Sara Ali Khan will replace Karishma Kapoor from the original. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, the remake will be released on May 1st of next year.
