The 25th film of Mahesh Babu
Maharshi, under the direction of Vamshi Paidipally and with Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh, whose co-stars have been published today in the midst of great expectations.

Rishi (Mahesh Babu) is the CEO of a company called Origin in the United States. Since his childhood, he has strived to succeed in life and earn money because he believes that his father (Prakash Raj) is a failure. He wants more of life than he has given him and strives to obtain it. But is he satisfied with the monetary gains and the success he discovers, which is the essence of the story.

The first half does not only see Mahesh Babu in his CEO's avatar, he also sees him as a MTech student in Vizag. Allari Naresh embodies her best friend, Ravi, the son of a farmer (Tanikella Bharani), who wishes to pursue his studies in order to succeed in the United States. Pooja Hegde plays Pooja, a symbolic character of "girlfriend" who just wants to settle in life with Rishi. Rao Ramesh plays Mahesh Babu University Professor while Vennela Kishore plays his friend Kanna.

The first half of Maharshi has its highlights through college scenes bringing humor and punchy dialogue. The equation between Rishi and his father, and Rishi and Ravi is also well established. However, the friction between Rishi's character and Kamal Kamaraju, Ajay, begins to feel forced after a while, the character seeming to exist only to be a catalyst. The Pooja character also seems to exist just to prove a point.

The scenes before the interval reveal much more than expected. After Rishi's departure to India just before the interval and the worsening of things, it remains to be seen how the second half will unfold.
