The Last Trailer of Spider-Man: Away from Home established that Mysterio is a hero of the world. another universe- and a new clip taken from the film goes even further in this explanation.
Presented in an interview with the actor Mysterio, Jake Gyllenhaal, during an appearance on Ellen the clip (not yet published online) develops. the brief moment seen in the trailer where Mysterio explains its origin.
In the new clip, Mysterio explains that the world of Spider-Man – the MCU – is Earth-616, while its world of origin is Earth-833.
Both these lands have roots in comics. The universe 616 is, of course, the core of the Marvel Comics universe, so named by Alan Moore in a Marvel comics UK Captain Britai . At the same time, Earth-833 (at least in the continuity of comics) is the home of Spider UK – a British version of Spider-Man that also served as British captain to his world.
Interestingly, in the comic books, Earth-833 was destroyed by an "incursion" in the lead up to 2015/16 Secret Wars which collapsed in the Marvel multiverse .
