The first student of the year directed by Karan Johar in 2012, was useless but harmless. Located in a posh school in Dehradun, St. Teresa, it was an annual school event so competitive and so coveted that it turned the best friends into rivals and dissociated them. the novels. This empty story was fueled by an intrinsic sense of fun, memorable airs and curiosity about the potential of the three newcomers who had embarked on it.
In Student of the Year 2 led by Punit Malhotra, the competition was held between schools, the main sport is kabaddi and the Cup of Dignity is the big reward. As Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander the main rivalry is between the students of a trendy school and the students of a modest school in the region. The characters, however, are familiar "types" that you can recognize from dozens of movies. There is the rich and intimidating son of the school counselor (Aditya Seal), the serious boy of the middle clbad sportsman (Tiger Shroff), the pretty girl confused about the heart (Tara Sutaria), and the kid of the campus who has the right (Ananya Panday). You must excuse my liberal use of the words "children", especially in the cases of Aditya and Tiger, who appear neither on campus, and who both seem too old to be forced to wear the uniform of their students.

But let's not go into the authenticity or the details. It's the franchise Student of the Year – or as I like to call it, the movies that make you wonder why your parents sent you to such a boring college. In a dance competition in Sainte-Thérèse, they recruit renowned judges such as Farah Khan and music composers Vishal and Shekhar. Will Smith makes an appearance too. At the college where I went, we were lucky to find a fairly well known NGO employee who lived in the next block.

The student of Year 2 is both predictable and far from original. But that's not even the big problem of the film. Unlike the previous one, this one is not based on the emotion, it is thus difficult to be invested in the characters or affected by their conflicts. Doubly, when it looks like they are coming out of the pages of a fashion magazine. Girls, of course, never have a hair in their place, nor a chipped nail, but even Aditya Seal has perfectly dried hair that is never ruffled even after an intense part of kabaddi.

if you can call it that, it's … how do you say that politely … "basic". Ananya Panday, as a terrific Campus Kid, has a little spice, but the other two newcomers have the full range and expressions of your favorite emojis. The singular strength of the film lies in Tiger Shroff, who plays with the film's dance, sports and combat sequences. The camera likes him and worships his abs whenever he loses his shirt – which he often does in this movie. Tiger is working hard to get the student out of year 2 of the page, but he is running into an awkward scenario that seems determined to burden the task.

It's not for nothing that the film ends with the Hook-Up song filmed on Tiger and Alia Bhatt. Looking back, I think we can all agree – with the possible exception of Kangana Ranaut – that we will give Alia Bhatt, this is what we will remember the first student of the year . The new movie?

I leave with two out of five for year 2 student . This is not unbadailable, it is simply useless.
