In fact, Sansa has not really wanted to join the Dragon's Mother since season 7 and has already spoken to Jon Snow before leaving Winterfell. Redditor u / Madame_hussain says what Sansa has planned to forcibly eliminate Daenerys from claiming the iron throne. In episode 4, "The Last of the Starks", Sansa tells Hound how much she has learned since the beginning of the series, even attributing some of her political talents to Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish.
At first, it was as if she were just discussing her journey and her journey, but she could also have guessed how she would put those lessons to the test. After all, one of the things that Sansa has learned is to betray those who are considered a threat to her and to the north. Currently, the Mother of the Dragon is the biggest threat of all.
Daenerys tries to win favor with Sansa, not because she wants to hear or because they both like Jon, but because she wants the throne of Iron and needs the greatest possible number of allies. Sansa, however, knows that the Breaker of Chains does not really care about the North. After discovering that Jon is entitled to the throne, what better way to ensure the safety of his people than to suppress Jon's biggest contest and make him king instead?
One of the reasons she never vowed to swear allegiance to Khaleesi is that she knew she never had the best interest of the North at heart. Daenerys may have been born in Westeros, but all his life was devoted to the reconquest of the iron throne. Sansa witnessed Gendry's act of legitimization by Daenerys and most likely recognized it as a power game. It would therefore be logical for Sansa to propose one of his own.
"Sansa's goal is to sabotage Dany," writes u / madame_hussain. "Help Cersei to win and end the war very quickly so that the North will not suffer any more losses and then to murder Cersei. Jon will have no choice but to introduce himself and be the king of the seven kingdoms. "
There are several examples in episode 4 on which u / madame_hussain extends. With the idea that Sansa lobbied for these events to happen, his first plan of action would probably have been to send a raven to Cersei before Daenerys arrived at Dragonstone. It may sound drastic, but it could at least explain how Euron and its fleet were able to take Daenerys off guard. It also helped the North Army not board any of Daenerys's ships. Sansa has lost none of his men.
Moreover, Sansa quickly revealed Jon's true identity to Tyrion, but only after trying to persuade Jon that he should be king. Jon was not at the idea, though, so Sansa may have taken matters into his own hands. To tell Tyrion the secret sprouts a "germ of doubt" and could lead him to wonder whether the Dragon Mother is fit to rule. This means that Sansa could partly play a part in Daenerys' transformation into a mad queen (even her hair is disheveled after the tragic death of Missandei).
His next plan of action would be to kill Cersei, the second biggest threat. U / madame_hussain suggests that Arya is best placed to accomplish this task and there is no doubt that Sansa would have advised her sister on Cersei, given their history.
Although some of these details are a bit distant, the general theory makes a lot of sense. Sansa may have hated Littlefinger, but she has learned a lot from him and she is now using these skills.
Game of Thrones Season 8 is broadcast Sunday at 9pm. Is on HBO.
