A girl has a name – and now, many other girls too.
Baby names "Game of Thrones" are gaining popularity, and new data released by the Social Security Administration, released on Friday, show that they are more popular than ever. Thousands of babies born in 2018 have been named after the characters of the popular HBO show.
The name Arya ranked 119th in female first names, making a significant jump from 942nd place in 2010 – the year of the beginning of the show. But another spelling of the name, Aria, was much more popular in 2018, ranking 19th.

Khaleesi, the title awarded to the wives of nomadic warlords, won nearly 100 places in 2017, ranking 549th. Yara recorded one of the biggest increases of last year, from a few hundred places to 672.
Although more and more babies are named after female characters in the series, there has been a slowdown in named babies according to his male characters.
Jon's popularity has declined in the last 20 years. He ranked 354th in 2000, but 754th last year. Jaime is also declining in popularity among male and female babies, while Jamie is up.
The federal agency only publishes data on the names given to five or more babies in a given year. It is therefore possible that there are one or two Hodors somewhere. Some other great characters, including Cersei, Missandei, Melisandre, Podrick, Gendry and Joffrey, also failed to finish in the standings last year.
