Actors Akshay Kumar and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Vidya Balan's 2007 film, are likely to have a sequel, according to reports. While Priyadarshan has made the original, the new film will be written and directed by Farhad Samji.
A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source as saying, "Bhushan wanted to do a second part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa for a while now and had an angry idea with Farhad Samji, who will write and direct the film. The film revolves around a couple based in the United States, Siddharth Chaturvedi (Shiney Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan), who are on holiday in India. Newlyweds are welcome; but when Siddharth insists on remaining in his ancestral mansion, he is upset by it, especially his uncle Badrinarayan Chaturvedi (Manoj Joshi), who openly expresses his disapproval. Despite the warnings about the haunted mansion, he moves there. Soon, strange things begin to happen and he is forced to call his friend psychiatrist Aditya (Akshay) for help. Amisha Patel, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav were also present in the film.
Director Farhad is currently working on his Akshay Housefull 4. Among his writings is Varun Dhawan's upcoming film, Sara Ali Khan, Coolie No.1, a remake of David Dhawan. , Govinda in the 90's.
