The latest production by Karan Johar, Student of Year 2, is heading for the 50 crore mark after five days of release. The film, which suffered a major drop on Monday, reported a crore of Rs 5.02 on the fifth day of the release and a total of Rs 49.37. Punit Malhotra, led by Tanya Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, is run by Student of the Year 2.
Taran Adarsh, Business Analyst, tweeted the numbers: "# StudentOfTheYear2 shows an ordinary trend … did not go down much. According to the report, the film experienced a significant decline in the number of simple screens, while maintaining heading to the multiplexes. The film debuted with impressive numbers, making it one of the top five Bollywood openers in 2019 with a crore of Rs 12. However, after a slight rise on Saturday, it found a steady downward trend at the counters. Monday saw a drastic drop of 54% in the collections.

A sequel to the 2012 Student Success movie that launched the career of Sidharth Malhotra, the son of David Dhawan , Varun Dhawan and Mahesh Bhatt's daughter, Alia Bhatt, SOTY 2 marked the debut of Ananya, the daughter of Tara and Chunky Panday.
While Tara already owns the RX100 Hindi remake with Sidharth Malhotra's Ahaan Shetty and Marjaavan in her kitten, Ananya started working on Kartik Aryan-Starrer Pati's Patni Aur Woh. Tiger, meanwhile, is working on his next action film where he will be seen with Hrithik Roshan.
