Thanks to the hit song Mella Mella Mella that created enough buzz around ABCD, a remake of the malayalam movie of the same name. Allu Sirish slips into the role of a wealthy NRI man who is put in a desperate situation by his father. Sanjeev Reddy is the director of this political comedy.
What is it?
Avi (Sirish) and Basha (Bharath) are sent to India because they do not know the value of money. They received only Rs 5000 per month to survive in India. How can a wealthy NRI who spends $ 20,000 a month live a common life in India?
Performances:
Allu Sirish is perfectly suited to the role of a wealthy man and he is doing the right thing. Bharath is good as his sidekick. Rukshar is pretty and his performance is correct. Nagababu agrees as a strict and shameless father. Raja as the villain fails to shine. Kota and Subhalekha Sudhakar played supportive roles. Vennela Kishore's cameo as a frustrated presenter is fun.
Technical Aspects:
Sanjeev Reddy succeeds well until he stays true to the original scenario. There are good times in the first period. However, his direction turns in circles in the second semester, where politics ranks first. He failed to give the film an emotional core that falls flat during critical climatic pbadages.
With the exception of Mella Mellaga, the other songs are pbaded. The background score is out of sync in many scenes. Cinematography is good. The editing could have been better in the second hour. Production values are not up to par. However, producers could not do much by keeping Sirish's market in their minds. is a disappointment

Analysis:
ABCD has a good postulate that distinguishes him from the usual artists. Two spoiled kids coming to India and forced to live in the slum have enough material to become a nice comedy. Despite a promising concept, ABCD offers only a handful of laughs and shines only in places. The political thread is parallel to the main plot and it does not develop in an interesting way. The choice of the actor to play the main villain also appears as one of the major drawbacks of ABCD.
Even the romantic thread between Sirish and Rukshar is underdeveloped. The love story does not contain enough meat to make the procedure interesting. It is difficult to root the main characters that are not developed correctly. There is not a moment when we, as spectators, want the hero and his friend to win and return to America. While the first half is pbadable despite an uninteresting scenario, the second half falls flat due to bad sequences involving the "Youth Icon" contest. The villain is barely threatening, removing the tension of the drama.
The climax is very predictable as the film ends on an expected note. However, the scenes leading up to the climax are not convincing enough. It is as if decision-makers are in a hurry to conclude. ABCD, which begins as an interesting comedy, unfortunately ends as an undercooked drama that gives a message of life to young people.
