Netflix's "Leila" is a dystopian series that gives the thrill

Netflix has definitely pushed the limits of his Indian web series and the trailer for his latest original, Deepa Mehta Leila, is not unexpected.

The main role of Huma Qureshi, Leila presents a dystopian reality where "purity" is the only law to follow and where those who deviate from it undergo a worse fate than the death.

In this dystopian reality, "Aryavarta" is the supreme rule to follow, which strictly punishes miscegenation or mixing between communities.

The series features Rahul Khanna as a partner of Huma Qureshi, who is not part of the same community as her. As a result, the two men are forcibly separated and their daughter, Leila, is captured.

What follows is Huma Qureshi's struggle to find his daughter, resist a forced "transformation" and survive another hell.

The series also features Siddharth, apparently an opponent in law enforcement, and Arif Zakaria as the main antagonist, leading the Aryavarta community.

The trailer is intriguing to say the least and has a striking similarity to The Handmaid's Tale.

Of course, this also gives us the opportunity to be again impressed by the magic of Siddharth and Rahul Khanna, and we absolutely can not stay calm. Watch the trailer here:

All episodes will air on June 14 on Netflix.
